Working with Parents in Private Homes
Professional Development in Newborn & Postnatal Care
Overview
Working within private homes requires far more than baby care knowledge alone.
This specialist professional development course explores the realities of working closely with parents and families within domestic environments, while maintaining professional standards, clear boundaries and safe, appropriate care for the baby.
The course focuses on communication, managing expectations, professional conduct, and understanding the dynamics that can arise when working within private households.
Learners will explore common challenges experienced in maternity nurse practice, including role boundaries, changing expectations, emotional pressure, difficult working environments and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Training is informed by real-world experience working with babies and families in private homes, including fully staffed and high-profile households.
